The weather is windy but sunny as we leave Algeciras – not without first making a short visit to the centre of the town. It is market day, the choice and the prices are really inviting.
Die Hafenstadt Algeciras liegt wie Tarifa, der südlichsten Stadt Europas, an der Strasse von Gibraltar. Das Stadtzentrum schmücken Brunnen, Balustraden und Bänke auf bunten Kacheln. Eine davon erzählt die Geschichte Don Quijotes, jener hageren literarischen Ritterfigur aus dem frühen 17 Jht. von Miguel de Cervantes.
Algeciras lies, like Tarifa, at the southern tip of Spain. The main square in the center is richly decorated with fountains, banks and balustrades, illustrated with painted tiles with motives from Cervantes Don Quijote, that scrawny literary knight from the 17th century by Miguel de Cervantes.
